Saniya patankar ( Kulkarni ) is an Indian Classical and Light classical vocalist belongs to the Jaipur-trauli gharana of Hindustani Classical music. known for her mastery of traditional as well as complex Anavat and Jod Ragas and versatility in various forms of Indian music, she has contributed to the classical music scene through her performances, recordings, and teaching.
Early Life and Education

Saniya patankar was born on 15 September 1978. She began her musical training at the age of six under the guidance of Late Mrs. Lilatai Gharpure. Later, she received advanced training in the Jaipur-trauli gharana style from Dr. Ashwini bhide deshpande and Smt. Manik bhide. Additionally, she studied musicology with Dr. Arwind Thatte and specialized in Anavat Raagas under Dr. Milind malshe. She also learnt “Stage” singing from Pt. Vasantrav rajurkar and Pt. Sharad sathe.
Patankar has academic qualifications in music and commerce, including a degree in Sangeet Vishadan M.Com (Gold Medal)and Company Secretary.
Patankar is an TOP GRADE artist of Doordarshan and Akashvani (all India radio). She has performed at prestigious music festivals in India, including:
- Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav, Pune
- Tansen Festival, Gwalior
- Baba Harivallabh Samaroh, Jalandhar
- Dover Lane Music Conference, Kolkata
- Saptak Festival, Ahmedabad
Internationally, she has represented Indian classical music in countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germanyand the Netherlands.
Saniya patankar has received awards such as:

She has also won first prize in classical, light, and semi-classical music categories at All India Radio’s national competitions.
As a mentor, Patankar teaches students from India and abroad through her” Prerana Music Organisation“. Her works include performances, thematic concerts, and articles on musicology published in magazines such as Oil and newspapers like The Times of India, Sakal etc.
Patankar’s performances and teaching have earned her recognition from renowned figures in Indian music, including Bharatratna Lata Mangeshkar, Bharatratna Pt. Bhimsen joshi and pt. Jasraj and many more. Her contributions continue to preserve and
promote the Jaipur-trauli Gharana Tradition.
